Adapted to the Western Plains, this is a very early, short-statured variety with a very high yield ceiling in the western plains. Very large kernel weight, avaeraging 39 mg statewide in 2016 without fungicide, or 17% greater than Bentley. Shows rapid canopy coverage in the fall, but heavy grazing is not recommended due to significant adult-plant height reduction. Timely harvest is advised to avoid pre-harvest sprouting (similar to Billing and Duster) and loss of test weight. Acceptable to very good dough strength and flour yield when wheat protein levels. Not yet evaluated by the Wheat Quality Council.
